Legacy Insurance Agency brings together two of Gonzales’s most trusted independent agencies—Logan Insurance Agency and DuBose Insurance Agency. This merger is more than a new name; it’s the uniting of nearly a century of dedication to families, farms, and businesses throughout Central Texas.
Logan Insurance Agency’s history traces back to the 1940s, when Irving Forgotston founded Forgotston Insurance. In 1988, Eldon Farek bought the agency. creating Forgotston-Farek Insurance. In 1973, Eldon partnered with Dick Dixon to form Farek-Dixon Insurance, later becoming Dixon Insurance in 1977. In 1983, Mike Davis and Jim Logan acquired the agency, renaming it Davis and Logan Insurance Agency. Jim Logan became the sole owner in 1902, and the agency became Logan Insurance Agency. In 2010, Jim sold the agency to current owner Travis Tresner who has continued Jim's legacy. Jim served as a mentor to Travis until his death in 2013.
DuBose Insurance Agency was founded in 1926 by J.O. DuBose and has been serving businesses and individuals across Texas for nearly a century. Originally specializing in fire and health coverage. DuBose Insurance was established by J.O. DuBose. After J.O.'s passing in 1948, his brother Whit M. DuBose took over. In 1950, Whit's son, John C. DuBose. joined the agency. followed by his daughter, Desiree (Sissy) Mills, in 1980. In 2007. John C. DuBose Jr. also joined, and in 2017, he and Sissy became co-owners after John C. DuBose Sr.'s passing. Sissy became the sole owner in 2024.
As of 2025, Travis Tresner of Logan Insurance Agency purchased DuBose Insurance Agency, uniting these respected names as
Legacy Insurance Agency.
